Pedigree are well known for their efforts in helping and caring for abandoned dogs, creating numerous campaigns over the years to help increase awareness. As people have less and less time to dedicate to causes such as this, their latest campaign only takes a minute and doesn’t require you to leave your computer.
Pedigree have created the virtual dog walk which allows you to take Ripley, the dog pictured above, on a walk across the internet. You bring Ripley to a number of different websites (four in total) dedicated to beaches, forests and parks dotted around the UK.
During each walk, you can play with Ripley by throwing him a toy ball, calling him, getting him to bark or letting him chase a stick. For each journey Ripley completes, Pedigree will make a £1 donation – 25p for each walk – with the aim of raising £100,000 overall.
The campaign is part of Pedigree’s Adoption Drive 2011 which is dedicated to saving abandoned dogs and helping them find new homes. Since the Pedigree Adoption Drive launched back in 2008, it has raised over £1 million for numerous rescue centres across the UK
